Public institutions have already achieved tangible results by utilizing ChatGPT in various fields. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reduced the time required for public health literature reviews, and the Georgia Department of Revenue cut the time spent digitizing tax forms from up to two weeks to just 15 minutes. Additionally, the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer utilized AI to discover unclaimed property, and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory accelerated the development of nuclear fusion research models. OpenAI stated that ChatGPT Enterprise does not use operational data, including inputs and outputs, for model training or improvement.

Cyber Defense Support and Contract Terms

The agreement also includes support for public sector cyber defense personnel. All verified government agencies can access Daybreak Blue, a cyber defense tool, at a 50% discount off the standard commercial price, and may request access to Daybreak Red for vulnerability research. This agreement will be in effect for 27 months, from October 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028.
