We've all felt the frustration of seeing a powerful new AI tool launch, only to find out it's blocked in our region or tied up in regulatory red tape. Well, there's some great news on that front: the US government has officially lifted export restrictions on Anthropic's latest models. Claude Fable 5 is available worldwide starting today, and for those in the US, access to Mythos 5 was already restored back on June 26.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed that licenses are no longer required for the export or transfer of these models, following Anthropic's work with the government to mitigate potential risks. Anthropic is also expanding its Glasswing program, allowing trusted cybersecurity researchers globally to access Mythos 5 for defensive purposes. It's a big win for accessibility, meaning more of us can finally put these high-end models to work without the bureaucratic headache.
