We’ve all felt the struggle of trying to get AI to actually understand a complex codebase without breaking things. That’s about to change. SpaceX has officially acquired Cursor, the AI-powered code editor, finalizing a $60 billion deal that was first optioned back in April after SpaceX became a public company.

This is a game-changer because Cursor now has a direct line to SpaceX’s massive GPU infrastructure—the same computing power they’ve been renting out to giants like Anthropic and Google. SpaceX is building out an incredible amount of computing capacity to reach new levels of intelligence, and they plan to use Cursor as the primary tool to make that power practical. It's not all clear skies, though, as SpaceX is currently fighting lawsuits over pollution from their data center gas turbines. Either way, your AI coding experience is about to get a lot more muscle.
